Writing is easy. Can’t I do it myself?

Writing looks easy, but it isn’t. Copywriting involves several stages including researching, fact checking, planning, writing, formatting, editing, proofreading, and possibly image sourcing. And all under tight deadlines. Not to mention that’s just one article. Could you manage that extra workload every week for years?

What do you charge?

My rate is £25-£75 per 500 words. That’s for articles, blogs and web pages. The reason I charge one rate is to keep my fees simple. I charge the higher rate if your copy needs interviews, travel, and other factors that increase the project’s scope.

Copywriting is expensive. Couldn’t I find someone cheaper?

Yes, definitely! Instead of paying a professional like me £25-£75 per 500 words, you could pay a cheaper writer £5 or even £1. So what’s the catch? Because they’re underpaid, they quickly burn out after writing for so little pay. Some quit writing altogether.

Other writers steal work to claim as their own because they can’t be bothered to write original work for low pay. If the real writer finds out their work was stolen, they’ll take legal action against you. Can your brand afford such bad publicity?

Why don’t you write other types of copy e.g. white papers, speeches, brochures, etc?

For two reasons. One, I prefer to write copy I’m passionate about. I love writing articles, blogs and web pages, so I specialise in those. Two, I don’t have enough experience writing other types of copy. I’d hate to learn on the job with your important project. A mistake could be very costly for you.

If you’d like me to consider a form of copy I don’t provide, get in touch. If it’s beyond my skill set and experience, I’ll be honest and turn the job down. As a dependable copywriter, you can depend on me being honest about what I can and can’t do.

Are you a hobby writer? Do you write part or full-time?

I write full-time. Articles, blogs, web pages, and even novels. Working full-time means I can fully commit to your project no matter how big or small it may be. I’m also able to complete rush jobs because I can work the whole day, every day to meet very tight deadlines.

Who owns the copyright?

Once you have made the final payment owed, you are granted full copyright to the work. That means you can say you wrote the copy and even put your name on it. Your clients will never know the truth.

Who comes up with ideas?

You, me or both of us. Usually blog ideas will come from you. I’ll write your words in a well-researched, impressive format to showcase your expertise to readers. I tend to think of ideas for articles myself. I’m happy to write copy based on your ideas and expertise. Otherwise, I’ll brainstorm ideas for you. So, who comes up with ideas? The decision is yours.

Will you meet every deadline?

It depends. If there is an unforeseen circumstance like a natural disaster, I probably won’t meet your deadline. Otherwise, I guarantee to meet every deadline or you’ll get a 25% discount. That’s a 25% discount for each deadline I miss. Four missed deadlines mean you’ll get your copy for free. Am I crazy? No. I’m just confident that I will meet every deadline every time.

Will you share my information?

Never. I keep confidential information to myself. Anything you share with me will not be shared with anyone else. As always, you can depend on me not to let you down.

Will you break promises? Will you let me down?

I wouldn’t be the dependable copywriter if I did. I don’t make promises I can’t keep. If I can’t write certain copy, I’ll tell you in advance. If I can’t complete a project by your deadline, I won’t accept the project in the first place. I am always honest about what I am capable of.

Do you make mistakes? Will there be errors?

Nobody’s perfect, not even me. As a professional, I always aim for error free work. I proofread work three times after editing. However, a fresh pair of eyes is best to catch errors. Please read through copy I deliver at least once, preferably twice.

What if I’m not happy with the work?

The Bail Out Guarantee I offer means you have two chances to walk away without spending extra money. It also means you have two chances to let me know if you’re not happy. Tell me what changes you want whether it’s revising a paragraph, changing a heading, or adding more to the conclusion. I’m happy to complete reasonable revisions to make you happy.

What if I don’t have time to work with you?

Successful people are so busy, but working with a copywriter saves time. Instead of writing articles or blogs yourself, you’ll save time by letting me do the work for you. Then you can put your name on it and pretend you wrote every word because you own the copyright. And all you have to do is approve my ideas, wait, read the final copy and publish the work. It shouldn’t take more than 10-15 minutes.

Should I work with a freelance copywriter or an agency one?

I’m biased because I’m a freelancer. Being freelance means I can offer a more personal service. Instead of nameless, faceless agency copywriters, you can see who I am and who you’ll be working with. There’s no middleman. You can contact me directly without a chain of command between us.

Will you communicate with me?

I’m available via email from Mon to Fri, 8am to 6pm. I may respond outside those hours but it’s not guaranteed. I don’t ignore emails. I respond as soon as possible. If you’re worried about anything, feel free to get in touch at contact@zahrabrown.com.

Adverts, billboards, TV and radio spots are just like all forms of marketing: They aren’t guaranteed to work. Would you rather risk thousands of pounds on a TV ad most viewers will mute, or risk a hundred pounds on a well-researched and well-written article?

What makes copywriting better than other forms of marketing is the longevity. A TV advert lasts seconds before it’s over. Copywriting will generate profit forever. Not a few seconds or minutes. Not a day or so. No. Forever. When your competitor’s TV spot ends, your marketing copy will continue to generate sales worldwide 24 hours a day.
